Verfügbare Sprachen
können ein DAT-Recorder mit optischen digita-
len Anschlüssen und ein digitales Mischpult mit
symmetrischen Anschlüssen bidirektional ver-
bunden werden.
Die übrig gebliebenen Anschlüsse können -
passendes Equipment vorausgesetzt - eben-
falls genutzt werden.
DIE DIGITALEN AUSGÄNGE
Die digitalen Ausgänge befinden sich auf der
Oberseite des Gehäuses und sind entspre-
chend bezeichnet. Das Datenwort am Ausgang
entspricht dem des zugewiesenen Eingangs,
unabhängig von seiner Bauweise. Es erfolgt

LAKE PEOPLE DFC C23 is a digital format
converter intended to be used with AES/EBU
and S/P-DIF signals. It offers a simple solution
to an increasing problem in the digital audio
world:
In line with "Murphy´s law" a digital output will
rarely be compatible to the following digital in-
put.
DFC C23 offers digital inputs and outputs ac-
cording to balanced, unbalanced and optical
standards.
It enables the electrical conversion and refres-
hing of digital audio signals.
It will not process an altering of channel-status
or user-bits.
A S/P-DIF input signal with copy bit will remain
unchanged, independent of the selected output.
A professional-format signal will remain as it is,
although it is output at an unbalanced or optical
connector.
All digital inputs and outputs and the 3.5 mm
phone-jack socket for the power supply are si-
tuated on the upper side of the case.
THE CASE
Te case is made of plastic with an aluminium
top panel. All connectors are situated on the top
panel.

metrisch, Ausgangsimpedanz 75 Ohm.

Der optische Ausgang ist als TOS-Link
ausgeführt und entspricht EIAJ RC-5720.
THE POWER SUPPLY
A wallplug adaptor with 3.5 mm phone-jack ser-
ves for power supply. The pin-out of the con-
nector is:
Tip = (+) Voltage, Sleeve = Ground
The internal circuitry is protected against re-
versing the power supply.
In case of using unfamiliar supplies, DFC C23
cares little about the quality. The supply should
have an unregulated voltage about 9 ... 12 V
DC or 8 ... 12 V AC.
Power consumption is about 150 mA.
The presence of the supply voltage is indicated
by the red "POWER" LED.
THE DIGITAL INPUTS
DFC C23 offers three digital inputs - balanced,
unbalanced and optical.
On all inputs professional or consumer coded
digital audio data are accepted. The inputs are
situated on the top panel and marked to their
function:
- The balanced input is equipped with an XLR
type connector and corresponds to AES 3-
1992, electronically balanced, impedance
110 ohms.
- The coaxial input is equipped with a cinch
connector and corresponds to IEC 958, un-
balanced, impedance 75 ohms.
