THE SAMPLE RATE CONVERTER MODULE
Hint:
SRC F422 may consist of one or two SRC
modules. The settings of the sync module are
valid for both SRC modules.
If two SRC modules are present, their digital
outputs are synchronized relative to the sync.
THE DIGITAL INPUTS
Two digital inputs are situated on the rear
panel and marked to their function.
On both inputs professional or consumer
coded digital data with up to 24 audio bits and
a sample rate of max. 210 kHz are accepted.
- The balanced input is equipped with an
XLR type connector and corresponds to
AES 3/11, transformer balanced, impe-
dance 110 ohms.
- The coaxial input is equipped with a cinch
connector and corresponds to IEC 958,
unbalanced, impedance 75 ohms.
The input sensitivity is 200 mV at Tnom/2.
INPUT SELECTION
With the "INPUT" button on the frontpanel one
of two inputs may be selected. The active input
is signalized by the illuminated "BAL" or
"COAX" LED.

THE STATUS DISPLAY
A valid input signal is displayed by the green
"LOCK" LED.
A unvalid input signal or a signal with a sample
rate 28 < Fs > 210 kHz is displayed by the red
"ERRor" LED.
If the input signal contains the emphasis flag,
the yellow "EMPH" LED is lit and the infor-
mation is processed to the outputs.
If the input signal contains the professional
flag, the yellow "PRO" LED is lit. Please note
that the SRC´s output signal will be coded with
pro/con information from the sync module.
THE FUNCTION
For an accurate function of the sample rate
converter, a valid input signal and a valid sync
signal is required. Both is signalized by the
green "LOCK" LEDs of the dedicated modules.
- A faulty input signal is displayed by the red
"ERRor" LED of the SRC module.
- As long as a valid clock information is
generated by the the sync module, a valid
AES empty frame is always output from
the dedicated SRC module(s).
