THE EXTERNAL SYNC INPUTS
The sync inputs are located on the rear panel
and marked according to their function. They
accept AES/EBU (sync) – signals, AES-id
(sync)-signals and WCLK signals.
According to AES 3/11, the AES/EBU input is
equipped with an XLR typ socket, transformer
balanced with 110 ohms impedance.
The coaxial AES-id input is equipped with a
BNC socket, unbalanced, according to AES 3-
id-2001. The input impedance is 75 ohms.
The coaxial WCKL input is equipped with a
BNC socket, unbalanced. The impedance may
be switched from 75 ohms to Hi-Z internally.
Ex works 75 ohms impedance is selected.
The input sensitivity of all inputs is 200mV at
Tnom/2.
SELECTING A EXT. SYNC SOURCE
Pushing the "EXT SYNC SOURCE" button
periodically activates:
-
the WCLK sync input
-
the AES-id input
-
the AES/EBU input
and the corresponing LED is lit.
If a valid signal is present at the appropriate
input, the green "LOCK" LED is lit. The
computed sample-rate of the active input is
displayed by the yellow LEDs 32, 44.1, 48,
88.2, 96, 176.4 or 192 kHz as far as the
external clock is within a range of +/- 200 Hz
around these fixed frequencies.

THE SYNC MODULE
A not valid signal or a signal beyond the range
of 28 kHz < Fs > 210 kHz is displayed by the
red "ERRor" LED.
In this case the internal clock conditioning is
interrupted and the SRC´s outputs are muted.
THE INTERNAL SYNC-SOURCE
Pushing the "INT SYNC SOURCE" button on
the frontpanel activates the internal oscillator
and the yellow "INT" LED is lit. Repeatedly
pushing this button activates in a cyclic way:

and the corresponding yellow LED of the
frequency display is lit. Because its structure
this signal is always valid, so the green "LOCK"
LED is lit.
THE OUTPUT FORMAT
Independently from a possible coding of the
external sync signal, the output format of the
connected modules may be switched to pro-
fessional or consumer format by means of the
"FORMAT" button.
