3.4. Switching over / cylinder exchange
BMD 100-39S
The system switches automatically over to the second cylinder, after the actual supply pressure runs below a predefined
pressure value. After cylinder change of the emptied bottle and turning the indicator handwheel the process runs vice versa.
If the handwheel arrow shows to the left side, the left cylinder will be used for gas supply until it is nearly empty. Reaching
that low pressure level, the BMD 100-39S switches automatically over to a right cylinder gas supply. The supply pressure
slightly decreases.
Now, to assure continuous gas flow, a cylinder change has to be done. The handwheel has to be turned. The arrow now
points to the right side. Supply pressure slightly increases. Now the right ball valve and the cylinder valve have to be closed.
The process valve has to be kept open for continuous gas flow.
Now change cylinder or bundle. After slowly opening of the cylinder/bundle valve, check threaded connections for leakage
by using soaped water or leakage test spray.

To change the empty cylinders/bundles with full ones, disconnect high pressure hoses from the cylinders/bundle, change
and secure cylinders or bundle and reconnect. After slowly opening the cylinders/bundle valve, please check threaded
connections for leakage by using soaped water or leakage test spray.
4. Switching off
a) Close cylinder valves or bundle valves
b) Release pressure from the regulator by turning adjusting knob anticlockwise,while gasoutlet is open
c) Close central shut off ball valve.
4.1 Special notes
a) In principle all shut off valves have to be opened slowly, smoothly and completely
b) Change all sealings of cylinder and bundle connection after each chnage of cylinder/bundle and check tightness
c) Keep regulator stations free from oil and grease
d) Only the manufacturer and/or trained personal are authorized for repairs.
5. Maintenance
When changing the cylinders/bundles the threaded connections and flexible lines need to be checked after an appropriate
period of time according to operating conditions, at least once a year. The test has to be documented.
6. Spare parts
Sealings, Sealing modul, Back pressure sealing set, Ball valve with angle tube fitting.
