7. Advices for installation & operation
General installation & operation instructions for Quintex self-limiting heating cables has
to be followed in any cases. (please notice document „important advices for installation
& operation).
Installation manual IAL3Ex MKSS (F) / IAL3MQSS (F) has to be followed for correct
assembling of the heating circuit!
For each heating circuit there has to be issued a testing certificate.
This has to be enclosed as part of the documentation.
Min. & max. ambient temperatures for the termination kit has to considered.
8. Service & maintenance
Operator of an electrical plant in Ex-areas is responsible for correct usage of operation
resources, correct operation & maintenance, for supervision and to execute maintenance
work if necessary, according to EN 60079-17.
Only authorized, trained staff is allowed to do maintenance work on Ex-heating circuits.
Before starting with maintenance work there has to be notified the security advices of the
manufacturer at any time. Only original spare parts of the manufacturer are allowed to use!
Continues inspections of all installed products has to be done.
(Please notice also document EN 60079-17).
Damaged heating circuits must be replaced immediatelly.

9. Special conditions

At heating circuits with cable types ILL, ILLw; ILM, there has to be granted, that these
cables are exposed to only little risk of mechanical impact.
Isolation testing must be made according to EN 60079-18, 9.2 as single testing procedure.
