• If necessary, clean the device housing and the heating elements with a damp cloth/
sponge and then wipe down the surfaces so that they are dry.
• Pull the fat drip tray out of the back of the device. Remove any food residues and
clean it with a detergent and warm water.
• Allow all parts to dry completely before you insert them back into the device.
• Store the device out of the reach of children and animals. Keep it in a dry, frost-free
place which is protected from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

If the device is not working properly, please check fi rst of all whether you are able to rec-
tify a problem yourself. Otherwise you should contact the customer service department.
Do not attempt to repair a defective device yourself!

Possible cause/solution
• Is the mains plug correctly inserted into the socket?
• Is the plug socket defective? Try another plug socket.
• Check the fuse of your mains connection.
• Is the temperature controller at the MIN (Off) position?
• When the device is fi rst used: Any coating residues
that may remain may result in a small amount of odour
or smoke development. This is normal. Allow the de-
vice to heat up for about 15 minutes (see the "Use"
chapter). During this time, make sure the room is well
ventilated, e.g. with wide-open windows!
• The device has already been used: Is the crumb
collection tray full or are the heating elements dirty?
Follow the instructions in the "Cleaning and Storage"
chapter.
