2. Place the device on a dry, heat-resistant, fl at surface at a suffi cient distance from
other objects and from the wall. Make sure that the device is out of the reach of
children and animals!
3. Fully unwind the mains cable.
4. Check whether the temperature controller (20) is in the MIN (Off) Position.
5. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed and earthed plug socket (220-240 V~)
with safety contacts. Make sure that the cable is not in contact with the grill
plate or the metal parts of the device!
6. Turn the temperature controller into position I. The device turns on and the red indi-
cator light (19) illuminates.
7. Turn the temperature controller to an average temperature setting and allow the
device to heat up for a short time.
8. Place the food onto the grill plate (3). Adjust the temperature setting if necessary.
The indicator light extinguishes as soon as the selected temperature is reached.

9. Turn the food over, let it grill on the other side and then remove the food.
10. To switch off the device turn the temperature controller to the MIN (Off) position.
11. Allow the grill plate to cool down completely before you clean it (see the "Cleaning
and Storage" chapter).

CAUTION!
❐ Danger of burns from hot device parts! Allow the device and the accessories to
cool down before any cleaning.
❐ Danger to life from electric shock! Remove the mains plug from the plug socket
before doing any cleaning. Never immerse the device, the mains cable or plug in
water. Never put the device and its component parts in the dishwasher.
❐ Do not spray cleaning agents directly onto the device. Do not use any glass cleaners.
❐ Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents, rough sponges or knives to clean
the device. These can damage the surface.
• Remove all food residues from the grill plate after each use. Then rinse the plate with
detergent and warm water.
