WHY IS MY IRON LEAKING WATER?
• Boiler has not been primed, see START for instructions
• Power switch indicator light is red while pushing the steam button, wait for indicator light to turn
green before ironing
• The iron may be overfilled, depress steam button a few times to steam out excess water
• Iron safety cap may not be tight enough
WHY DO I HAVE TO EMPTY MY IRON AFTER EVERY USE?
You should empty your iron after each use. This will ensure that when you use the iron next, it will
not be overfilled and any remaining water inside your iron may calcify inside the iron. This will requi-
re you to clean your iron more frequently.
Which water should be used for Loewe PowerStation?
Tap water.
We recommend to use tap water that is not harder than 17°. If you use extremely hard water, you
should mix your tap water with destilled water in a ratio of 1:1.
Which water is unsuited for Loewe PowerStation?
Water with additives
Never add starch, softener, perfume or size. Water residue forms in the boiler, which damages the
appliance and soils the linens to be ironed.
Rain or stagnant water
The so-called biofouling generates the formation of germs in the water than can cause clogging of
the water flow. Water defrosting water or clothes dryer condensation water: these types of water can
contain foreign substances that could interrupt the water flow. Clothes dryer water is not suitable
because residue of detergent and softener can damage the seals and valves.
Water from descaling systems
It can be used if no lower than hardness degree 3. Otherwise, dripping and a weak jet of steam may
occur. In this case, use a mixture with normal tap water in a 50-50 ratio.
Distilled water can be used only if mixed with normal tap water in a 50-50 ratio.
The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for any consequent damage to the appliance
or to the linens to be ironed.
Throw the packing materials such as plastic and cardboard away in their relevant dustbins.
When the appliance reaches the end of its lifetime, do not throw it away in normal household waste
but deliver it to the dedicated electric and electronic appliance recycling collection centres. Observe
the symbol on the product, on the instructions for use and on the packing.
The materials can be used as indicated. With your help for the reutilisation and processing of ma-
terials and other forms of use of old appliances, you make an important contribution to protecting
our environment.
Ask the authorities in your area where the closest collection point to you is located.
HOW TO DECALCIFY YOUR IRON
Limescale can be removed by using customary Decalcifiers. We recommend using PowerX which
is a very concentrated decalcifier from our LOEWE PowerSeries.
PowerX has a measuring cup with the help of which you put 2 x 20 ml into the measuring cup of
the iron. After filling up to the MAX limit with tap water, you fill the COLD TANK. After 1-2 hours, you
empty the tank and rinse it with tap water several times.
ATTENTION:
Do NOT heat up the device nor use your steam button during decalcifying process.
