• This device is not designed to be used by persons (including children) with limited
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lacking in experience and/or knowledge,
unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive instructions
from this person as to how the device is to be used. Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with the device.
• Access by children must be prevented through suitable measures.
• The operator is responsible for third parties in the working range of the device.
• Prior to commissioning, an electrician must ensure that the demanded electric
protection measures are in place.
• Persons may not be located in the respective vessel / tank / basin during pump
operation.
• Carry out a visual inspection every time before you operate the device. Do not use the
device if safety equipment is damaged or worn. Never render the safety equipment
inoperable.
• Only use the device for the intended purpose stated in this instruction manual.
• You are responsible for safety in the work range.
• If the pump cable or the plug is damaged due to outside influences, the cable may not
be repaired! The cable must be exchanged for a new one! Only electricians may perform
this work.
• The voltage of 230 V/DC indicated on the type plate of the pump must correspond to
the mains voltage.
• Never lift, transport or attach the pump by its cable.
• Make sure that the electric plug connections are located in a spot that is safe from
flooding and protect them from moisture.
• Pull the mains plug each time before working on the pump.
• Make sure that the pump is not subjected to direct jets of water.
• It is the duty of the operator to observe the local safety and installation regulations.

• The operator must prevent consequential damage due to flooding of rooms in case of
faults in/on the pump (e.g. installation of an alarm system, back-up pump, or similar).
• Should the pump break down, repairs may only be performed by a qualified electrician
or an authorised service workshop.
• Only use Gardens Best replacement parts.
• The pump may never run dry or be operated with fully closed suction hose.
• The pump must be equipped with a Residual Current Protective Device (RCD) with
a rated residual current of no more than 30 mA.
• The pump may not be used to operate swimming pools.
• The pump may not be installed in the drinking water cycle.
