∙ While charging, the transformer within
the adapter will become warm. This is
perfectly normal and safe and does not
indicate a malfunction of any kind.
∙ If the appliance has not been used for a
long period, the capacity of the battery
may decrease by a certain amount.
However, full capacity will be restored
after several charge/discharge cycles.
Use
Changing the trimming heads
∙ To remove the trimming head, fi rst turn
the head anti-clockwise until the 'open-
lock' symbol on the head and the dot
mark on the housing are aligned; then
pull the head off.
∙ To fi t the trimming head, place it on the
appliance in such a way that the dot mark
and the 'open-lock' symbol on the head
are aligned. Then turn the head clockwise
to lock it. The dot mark and the 'closed-
lock' symbol are now aligned.
Fitting the push-on combs
The push-on comb attachments allow for
cutting length adjustment from 3 to 12 mm.
The smaller comb is suitable for 3 mm and 6
mm, the larger comb for 9 and 12 mm. The
comb attachments can only be used with the
30 mm trimming head.
When fi tting a push-on comb, ensure that it
is safely locked by the two locking buttons on
the sides. To remove a push-on comb, push
it upwards from the side.

Operation

∙ Before each use, always put a few drops
of acid-free oil between the trimming
comb and the blade.
∙ Depending on the desired shape or style,
either the wide or the small trimming head
may be used.
∙ For longer beards, one of the push-on
comb attachments can be used together
with the wider trimming head. However,
you should always start with the larger
comb.
∙ Switch the appliance on.
∙ The beard is generally cut against the
natural direction of growth.
∙ Always begin at the neck and move the
appliance upwards through the beard hair.
∙ For a shaped cut, reverse the appliance
and shorten the hair from top to bottom
without using the push-on comb.
Cleaning and care
∙ It is essential to switch off the appliance
and then remove the adapter from the
wall socket before cleaning and oiling.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, the
appliance and the adapter must not be
immersed in liquid or allowed to come into
any contact with liquid.
∙ If necessary, the exterior surfaces of the
charging base and trimmer / shaper may
be wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth.
Trimming comb and trimming blade
∙ After each use, use the cleaning brush to
remove hair from between the trimming
comb and the blade. The trimming comb
can be removed for cleaning. To take it off
the head, remove the two screws on the
trimming head and take off the comb. To
re-attach the comb, push down the comb
and blade and re-fasten the screws fi rmly.
