When using Sony Manufacturing Systems Corporation products, observe the following general
precautions along with those given specifically in this manual to ensure proper use of the products.
• Before and during operations, be sure to check that our products function properly.
• Provide adequate safety measures to prevent damage in case our products should
develop a malfunction.
• Use outside indicated specifications or purposes and modification of our products will
void any warranty of the functions and performance as specified for our products.
• When using our products in combination with other equipment, the functions and
performance as noted in this manual may not be attained, depending upon the operating
environmental conditions. Make a thorough study of the compatibility in advance.
• Do not touch the circuit devices with your hands. Otherwise the internal circuits may be
damaged by static electricity.
• To prevent misoperation due to static electricity, do not remove the connector caps
attached at the time of shipping from unused connectors.
• Do not route the connecting cable through the same duct as the machine power line.
• To prevent misoperation of surrounding equipment due to noise emitted from the LT100
display unit and vice versa, use a shielded cable for the I/O cable.
• The frame and circuit GND of this counter board are separated, but the frame and circuit
GND on the connected measuring probe side may share the same ground. In these
cases, do not apply any voltage other than 0 V to the frame GND as this may damage the
display unit and measuring probe.
• When connecting the I/O connector, be sure to wire the connector correctly. Failure to do
so may damage the internal circuits.
• Place the display unit more than 0.5 m (20") away from a high voltage source, large
current source, large power relay, etc.
• For installation of the display unit, avoid a location exposed to chips, cutting oil, or
machine oil. If unavoidable, take adequate countermeasures.
• The ambient temperature should be in the range of 0 °C to 40 °C (32 °F to 104 °F). Avoid
exposure to direct sunlight, hot air currents, or heated air.
• The LZ60-P1/P2 counter board is designed for use mounted in the LT100 display unit.
Mount, connect and operate the board in line with the explanations given in the
appropriate sections of this manual and the instruction manual of the LT100. Failure to
correctly operate this device may result in a malfunction.
• Be sure to turn off the power before installing the LZ60-P1/P2 counter board in the LT100
display unit.
• The LZ60-P1/P2 is a counter board designed for DG and DL series measuring probes with mini
DIN type connectors. The LZ60-P1/P2 can also be connected to the DT12 via the MT10 detector.
• Set the input resolution of the LT100 display unit to match the resolution of the connected
measuring probe. Measuring may not be performed correctly if the resolutions do not
match. See the LT100 instruction manual for details.
