the switching system (autonego-
tiation).
Malfunctions on the ports are
detected automatically by the
switching system - the affected
port is switched off (autopartitio-
ning).
The switching system runs accor-
ding to the "Store-and-forward-
principle", i.e. the data received
are stored temporarily in the
device and checked for comple-
teness before they are transferred
to the corresponding port. For
relieving the network faulty data
are not forwarded.
Crossed or uncrossed patch
cords (MDI/MDIx) can be used
optionally on each port.
Each port has three LEDs in order
to display the respective status.
The master is supplied by the
230-V-alternating net of voltage,
the slave via the master.
The slave gets his data only from
the master. He does not work
without him.
