5. Preparing the appliance for measurement

a) Inserting/replacing batteries

1. Put the appliance on its front and pull off the battery compart-
ment lid.
Now, insert the batteries according to the position shown in the
compartment.
Make sure that the battery poles (+/–) are the right way round.
2. In case of missing display and/or display of empty batteries
symbol all batteries must be replaced.

NOTE: Insert the new batteries within 30 seconds after
removing the old batteries, since otherwise all the saved data
will be deleted.

Important: In order for the appliance to work properly, the
battery compartment cover must be firmly in place. Remove the
batteries from the appliance if you do not use it for any length of
time. Batteries should be disposed of according to the regulations
(see point 11).

b) Setting date and time

The default value of this function is 1/01 12:00
1. To change the date and time, press the Adjust T-button for
about 4 seconds. The "Year" starts to blink on the LCD.
