• Regularly check the device, the power cord and the power plug for visible damages. Do not use
the device if you notice any damages. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself.
• Only qualified staff may perform repairs.
• Children cannot recognize the dangers inherent in handling electronic devices. Keep children
away from this device. Please be extremely observant when using this device in the presence of
children!
• Keep packaging material, like plastic bags and styrofoam particles away from children. Danger of
suffocation!
• So not operate this device during a thunderstorm. Danger of electric shock!
• This device may only be used for the intended use as described in this manual.
• This device is intended only for private use, not for commercial use.

PRIOR TO INITIAL OPERATION

• Remove all protective and packaging material and all accessories from the device.
• Inspect the device and accessories for visible damages. Do not use the device if it seems
damaged.
• To remove dust or residue remaining from the manufacturing process, you should clean the
Raclette-pans and grill rack prior to the first use. Please adhere to the information provided for
care and cleaning.
• Prior to initial use, using a dry cloth, lightly coat the grill area with a few drops of cooking oil/
grease.
• The manufacturer lightly oiled all device components. Therefore, some smoke might develop
during the first operation of your device. This is not a defect. Pre-heat the unit prior to the first
operation for about 10 minutes, without any foods; the smoke will dissipate after a few minutes.

PREPARATION OF FOOD INGREDIENTS

• Cut the food, e.g. meat, vegetables, potatoes, in small pieces or slices. This will reduce cooking
time.
• Use only foods that were dried off.
• Thaw frozen ingredients prior to use.
• Use only heat-resistant cooking oils/grease for oiling the accessories.

HANDLING YOUR UNIT

• Please be sure to lightly oil the grill rack and Raclette-pans prior to using them.
• Place the device on a sturdy, level and heat-resistant surface. When positioning your device,
please keep in mind that some splattering cannot be avoided when using greasy ingredients!
• Position your device so that the power cord cannot come into contact with any hot parts and that it
does not pose a tripping-hazard.
• The power outlet must be easily accessible at all times, so that the plug can be quickly removed
from the power outlet in case of an emergency.
• Prior to connecting the device to the power outlet, be sure that the device is switched off.
• Connect your unit to a power outlet that was installed according to regulations.
• Switch the device ON (Switch position I). The indicator light will light up. The pre-heating time is
approximately 8 minutes.
• Fill Raclette-pans with desired ingredients. When filling the Raclette-pans, please be sure that the
ingredients do not come into contact with the heating coil once the pan is positioned into the pan
support.
