Establishing a connection with the second WLAN-SSID of the AP
• Besides the above described SSID, the access point provides a second WLAN network. This
is called "ap-game-xxxxxx". It is encrypted with WEP by default and deactivated on delivery.
• This WLAN is for devices, like game consoles, which only support WEP encryption.
• The name as well as the safety key are again printed on the bottom of the device and are
different for each access point. Every "x" represents a number or letter.
• The WLAN can be switched on and off by using a slide switch which is located on the left
side.
Please note! In the "ON" position the safety switch is activated and the WLAN "ap-
game-xxxxxx" is therefore switched off! Move the switch to the "OFF" position to
activate it.
If you do not need this second WLAN, then leave the slide switch in the "ON" posi-
tion!
• If you wish to connect a device to the "ap-game-xxxxxx" WLAN, slide the switch on the side
to the "OFF" position and wait a few seconds.
Now you can connect each device to the access point.
Please observe the operating instructions of the device in question.
The web interface of the AP
• The device has a web interface like any other access point or router. Here all settings can be
entered.
Please note! For normal use, the settings in the web interface do not need to be
adjusted.
• In order to still access the settings in the web interface, please proceed as follows.
• First you disconnect the network connection between the access point and the router or
network switch by removing the network cable from the AP.
Now reset the access point. In order to do so, remove the power for about 5 seconds.
If the computer on which you want to do the confi guration of the web interface was already
connected to the AP via WLAN, restart this again as well.
After both the access point and the computer have completed the reset process, reconnect
your computer with the WLAN of the AP. The connection may also be possibly be restored
automatically.
• Next open your web browser and enter the IP-address http://192.168.1.250/ or http://
ap.setup/ in the address bar.
A screen will open in which you have to enter the user name "admin" and the default pass-
word "password", all in lower case letters and without quotes.
On the fi rst page of the web interface you can start a short Quick setup, in which you can
adjust the settings for the second "ap=game-xxxxxx" WLAN, by clicking on "ENGLISH".
In order to open the extended setup, simply click on "ADVANCE SETTING" on the fi rst page.
• After you have completed the confi guration, close the web browser.
Reconnect the previously disconnected LAN cable to the access point again.
Restart both your computer and the AP again.
Resetting to Factory Settings
On the left side of the device you will fi nd a recessed reset button next to the safety switch. You
can use this to reset the access point back to factory settings.
Connect the access point with the power adapter and plug it into a mains socket. Wait about
60 seconds until the self test has fi nished. Hold the reset button for about 3 seconds until the
power LED starts blinking. Then let go of the button again.
The access point restarts, this takes about 60 seconds. Then the access point is reset to the
factory settings (IP address 192.168.1.250; username "admin" and password "password").
