cracked or damaged cutting wheel immediately.
∙
Use this machine only for dry cutting.
∙
Do not cut materials other than ones for which the
machine has been designed.
∙
It's important to support the work properly to
minimize the body exposure, blade binding, or loss of
control. Never cut freehand: always clamp workpiece
properly. Use the vise to hold the work. Never hold the
piece to be cut in your hands or across your leg.
∙
Use extra caution with large, very small or awkward
workpieces: use extra supports (tables, blocks, etc.) for
any long workpieces if necessary.
∙
Never use another person as a substitute for a table
extension, or as additional support for a long workpiece.
∙
Do not use this tool to cut pieces too small to let you
easily hold the work with the vise.
∙
Make sure bystanders are clear of the tool and
workpiece.
∙
Keep your hands and all your body away from the
cutting area and cutting wheel.
∙
Hold the machine firmly to prevent the loss of
control.
∙
Keep your face and body to one side of the cutting
wheel, out of line with possible thrown sparks or dust.
∙
Before starting your cut, watch the cut-off machine
while it runs. If it makes an unfamiliar noise or vibrates a
lot, stop it immediately.
∙
Make sure the cutting wheel is not contacting the
workpiece before the on/off switch is turned on. Let the
cutting wheel reach full speed before cutting.
∙
Do not attempt to remove cut material when the
cutting wheel is running.
∙
Watch out for flying sparks when operating.
∙
Be aware of the time it takes for the cutting wheel
to stop after the on/off switch is released. Wait for all
moving parts to stop.
∙
Do not touch the cutting wheel, workpiece or
cutting chips immediately after operation; they may be
extremely hot and could burn your skin.
∙
Never leave tool running unattended. Turn power
off and unplug before leaving the machine.
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure that all
components are included. Refer to the drawings on this
manual. If any parts are missing or broken, please call
IVT assistance center.
INITIAL OPERATION
Always use the correct supply voltage: the power supply
voltage must match the information quoted on the tool
identification plate.
INSTALLING THE MACHINE
The machine has to be set up on a firm, level surface, e.g.
on a work bench, or it must be bolted to a strong base.
PRIOR TO OPERATION
∙
All guards and safety devices have to be properly
fitted before the machine is switched on.
∙
Inspect the machine. Make sure that the cutting
wheel (4) is of the correct type, that it is in good working
order, that it is correctly fitted and that the machine's
moving parts run smoothly. The cutting wheel (4) has
to run freely.
∙
Ensure that ventilation openings are kept free.
∙
Inspect the workpiece and check it is properly
supported and securely clamped with the vise.
Securing the workpiece using the vice
This tool is equipped with a quick-release lever (12) for
fast movement of vise.
1.
Place the workpiece material between vise plate
(14) and vise stop (15), raise the quick-release lever (12)
and push the vise handle (13) to bring vise plate (14)
lightly into contact with the workpiece material. [F1]
2.
Then, turn the quick-release lever (12) down,
and securely fix the workpiece material in position by
turning the vise handle (13) clockwise. [F2]
3.
To release the vise: turn vise handle (13) to loosen,
lift quick-release lever (12), pull vise back.
∙
Generally the cut-off machine will cut most
efficiently if the cutting wheel (4) is cutting the thinnest
section at any time. Angles should be in an inverted
position. [F3]
∙
Long workpieces must be supported by blocks of
non-flammable material on either side so that it will be
level with the top of the base (17). [F4]
Changing the cutting angle [F5]
You can change the vise angle from -30° to 45° by case.
1.
Loosen the vise adjusting bolts (16), then set the
vise stop (15) at the desired angle, with reference to the
graduated scale.
2.
Securely tighten the vise adjusting bolts (16) back
again.
SWITCHING ON/OFF
Switching on [F6]
To start the tool, depress the lock-off button (6), then
squeeze the trigger of on/off switch (7). Hold them both
pressed at the same time, to keep the machine operating.
