FITTING AND REMOVING THE BAKING PLATES
Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down
completely. Choose the sandwich toaster, waffle plate or grilling plate.
I
Never use the appliance with only 1 baking plate. Always make sure 2 baking plates are fitted
correctly.
I
Do not allow the baking plates to come into contact with metal cutlery or other metal objects
in order to avoid causing damage to the non-stick coating. Always use a heat-resistant plastic
or wooden spatula.
ASSEMBLY
1. Select the plate marked "TOP" on the back to place at the top.
Insert the two lower ends of the plate into the slots provided
at the top of the appliance hinge. Push the plate until it clicks
into place.
2. Select the plate marked "BOTTOM" on the back to place at
the bottom. Insert the two rear ends of the plate into the slots
provided at the bottom of the appliance hinge. Push the plate
down until it clicks into place.
DISASSEMBLY
To remove the baking plates, press the buttons on the right side
of the appliance. This will release the baking plates.
USE
1. Place the appliance on a dry, flat surface and ensure there is adequate ventilation.
2. Choose from one of the 3 sets of baking plates supplied: sandwich toaster, waffle or grilling. Fit
the baking plates (see chapter, "Fitting and removing the baking plates").
3. The appliance has a high-quality non-stick coating, so you do not usually need to use
additional fat. However, if the batter contains little or no fat, we recommend that you grease it
lightly the first time with oil or butter using a pastry brush or a piece of kitchen paper.
4. Plug the power cord into a socket. The red 'on/off' indicator light will illuminate. The appliance
will start heating.
5. The green 'ready for use' indicator light will light up when the appliance is hot enough for
baking. Open the appliance and place the food inside. Then close the appliance.
I
The 'ready to use' indicator light will go off and on regularly as the appliance continuously
maintains its temperature.
I
The lock on the handles must not be used when grilling, but may be used for waffles and
toasted sandwiches if desired. However, never attempt to lock the appliance by force.
6. When your preparation has finished baking, open the lid and remove the food from the
appliance using a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use metal objects as these can damage the
non-stick coating.
7. To switch off the appliance, remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait until the
appliance has cooled down completely.
I
Note: Defrost frozen food before putting it in the appliance.
