4 Connecting
Before you connect your speakers, ensure all your
equipment is turned OFF.
Your Sabre-R speakers have two linked pairs of terminals
on the back. For conventional single-wire connection,
the terminal links should remain in place and just one
pair of terminals connected to the amplifier. For bi-wire
connection or bi-amplification, the terminal links should
be removed and each pair of terminals connected to the
amplifier or amplifiers independently.
For details on bi-wiring your speakers, visit the customer
support section of our website.

Cables to each speaker should be the same type and
length and for best performance, we recommend either
4mm banana plugs or spade terminals although bare
wires up to 4mm diameter can also be used.
Correct polarity is important, so ensure the red (+)
terminals on the amplifier are connected to the red (+)
terminals on the speakers and the black (–) terminals
to the black (–) terminals. Incorrect polarity will result in
poor bass performance and incoherent stereo imaging.
Always screw the terminal caps down fully to prevent
rattles.

5 Room acoustics

Room acoustics play a significant role in how good your
system will sound.
If when you talk or clap your hands you hear a ring or
echo in the room, it is likely your system is not going to
sound as good as it should.
Adding a rug or some soft furnishings is often all you
need to do, but for more detailed advice, please visit the
customer support section of our website.
