TROUBLESHOOTING

Malfunction
The motor head cannot
be fastened to the filter
case.
Water leakage from
the motor head.
The motor is not work-
ing.
Reduced water flow.
Possible cause
The arrows on the filter media container
and on the filter case are not all pointing in
the same direction. The filter media contai-
ners are incorrectly fitted.
Too much filter media has been put into the
filter media containers.
The locking clips are not properly closed.
Dirt or foreign bodies are located on the fil-
ter case or motor head seal.
The motor head seal is incorrectly fitted,
damaged or missing.
The edge of the motor head is damaged.
The hose adapter is incorrectly fitted.
The power supply is interrupted.
The impeller shaft is broken.
The impeller is missing or is blocked by for-
eign bodies.
The hose adapter is heavily soiled.
The hoses are restricting the water flow.
Excessive dirt build-up in the hoses.
Strainer clogged.
Filter media clogged.
The filter media is contained in nets.
The filter media containers have not been
correctly filled with filter media.
Excessive dirt build-up on the Tetra FF Fil-
ter Floss Pad.
Dirt in the impeller case.
The water is not circulating.
Filter media/spare parts other than those
supplied by the manufacturer have been
used.
Remedy
Fit the filter media containers correctly.
Remove excess filter media.
Close the locking clips properly.
Clean all points where the motor head seal and
filter case make contact.
Correctly insert the motor head seal or replace.
Replace the motor head.
Fit the hose adapter correctly.
Establish the power supply.
Replace the impeller.
Fit the impeller or clean.
Remove the hose adapter and clean with warm
water.
Eliminate any kinks or twists in the hoses.
Rinse out the hoses, intake pipe and outlet pipe
with tap water at high pressure.
Remove all foreign bodies and dirt.
Clean the filter media with water from the
aquarium.
Do not use filter media in nets or nylons as the
filter will become clogged.
Fill the filter media containers correctly.
Replace the Tetra FF Filter Floss Pad.
Clean the impeller with warm water.
Position the outlet pipe above the level of the
water and press the start button.
Only use original parts from Tetra.
