Syringe will not load or remove from Infusion Pump:
NOTE: You should not need to use significant force to load or remove a syringe.
• Make sure the pump is in the OFF position and that the black tab is at the end of its track.
If the black tab is not at the end of its track, fully wind the large knob clockwise and try
removing syringe again.
• Make sure you are using a syringe listed on page 2. These are the only syringes that have
been tested for use with the Freedom60.
• If using a Hizentra
installed prior to loading the syringe (see page 6 for instructions)

• Make sure you are using a Precision Flow Rate Tubing set and that the luer disc end of the
tubing has been connected to a compatible syringe (see page 2 for details).
• Make sure you are using a syringe listed on page 2. These are the only syringes that have

• Make sure the flange shape of the syringe is seated securely into the pump's nose.
• Make sure the luer disc on the tubing set is seated properly in the nose of the pump.
• Make sure you have attached the syringe directly to the tubing and NOT directly to the
subcutaneous needle set.
Medicinal product (5 ml or less) is left in the syringe:
• Make sure you are using a syringe listed on page 4. These are the only syringes that have

Medicinal product is not flowing through the tubing:
• Make sure that the pump is in the ON position.
• Make sure all the tubing is not clamped.
• Using care not to touch or contaminate the ends, disconnect the tubing set from the needle
set, and check for medicinal product drip.
• If the medicinal product does not drip, replace the tubing as it may be damaged.
The flow is slow (infusion is taking longer than expected):
Flow rate can vary for each patient and each infusion. Administration may be slow based on
how well the medicinal product is absorbed through the tissue. Some infusions may be faster than
others. The first infusions may take longer than expected because the body may need to adapt.
• Verify that the tubing is not kinked, damaged, or punctured. If the slide clamp has been used,
the tubing may be damaged and should be replaced.
• Make sure you are using a syringe listed on page 2. These are the only syringes that have
been tested for use with the Freedom60.
• Ensure the pump is level with the infusion sites. If the pump is lower than the infusion sites the
flow rate may be slower.
