Addresses should be assigned beginning with "0".
Connect the microphones and the DMI-8.
Connect the GN outputs of the DMI-8s in rising or-
der of their device addresses to the GN inputs of
the MCA-ES to keep RCS remote control and rout-
ing in the same sequence of channels.
Connect the Word Clock output of the MCA-ES
via BNC cable to the Word Clock input of the cas-
caded DMI-8 to synchronize the DMI-8s and con-
nected microphones to the MCA-ES word clock.
Connect the DMI-8s to the power supply system
and start the RCS soft ware.
Attention: The DMI-8 must be switched on before
the RCS is started so that the DMI-8 will be de-
tected by the PC or Mac. Alternatively, the com-
mand Options/DMI can be used to detect a DMI.
Ensure correct fastening of the connectors when
connecting the cables.
Lay the cables in such a way that they do not pres-
ent a tripping hazard.
Updating of fi rmware
The fi rmware in the MCA-ES, in the DMI-8 and in
the Neumann microphones is updatable. Updates
can be performed without opening the equip-
ment, via the RCS control soft ware (see the RCS
Operating Manual).
