5.3 Installation and connection of a cartridge
As an alternative to the pre-installed cartridge, other models with half-inch mounting can also be
used.
Please note:
The recommended
of the original system, as the anti-skating compensation is pre-set at this value.
For lighter cartridges, an additional weight is required, which is available separately from Clearaudio
or your specialist dealer.
Proceed as follows:
Remove the previous cartridge by carefully pulling off the tonearm cable sockets on the rear side
and loosening the screws on the headshell.
Mount the new cartridge (with stylus guard in place) loosely onto the headshell.
Initially tighten the mounting screws only slightly to allow for precise alignment later.
Then connect the internal tonearm wiring cables to the corresponding pins on the cartridge as
follows:
Left Signal Pin (L+)
+
Left Ground Pin (L-)
R
L
Right Signal Pin (R+)
-
Right Ground Pin (R-)

Only precise alignment of the cartridge on the headshell can fully reveal the excellent sound
characteristics of the turntable.
To properly align the cartridge, suitable adjustment tools such as an alignment protractor are
necessary.
If cartridge alignment seems too difficult, your specialist dealer will certainly be happy to assist you.
