Install the Starter
Rope
1.
Pull the starter rope through the rope guide on the
handle. To make the rope easierto loop, squeeze
the control bar on the handle to release the blade
brake.

Push spark plug wire onto the spark plug.

STARTING—Move the throttle to the FAST posi-
tion. When starting a cold engine, press the primer
(on the front of the engine) three times.

handle. Pull the recoil starter out until positive
engagement results; then pull vigorously to start
the engine. Lower the control bar halfway and
move the traction control lever backward (toward
the operator) (Fig. 4). Slowly squeeze the control
bar against the handle to engage the traction mech-
anism (Fig. 5). Regulate the throttle as desired
between
FAST and SLOW.
