1.0 GENERAL
1.1 SAFETY SYMBOLS:
Proper set-up and safe use of your Matrx® product depends on your own good judgement and
common sense, as well as that of your provider, caregiver and/or health professional.
The following symbols are used throughout this user manual to indicate warnings, cautions and
important notes and information. The warning symbols are accompanied by a heading that indicates
the severity of the danger.
IMPORTANT! Indicates important information which if not followed could result in damage
to the product.
CAUTION! Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which if not avoided could result in
product damage, minor injury or both.
WARNING! Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which if not avoided could result
in death or serious injury.
This product complies with the EU Medical Device Regulation 2017/745 for medical
products (Class I).
1.2 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
IMPORTANT! Please refer to the Wheelchair Owners/Operators Manual for additional
safety information, warnings and cautions related to the operation of your wheelchair.
IMPORTANT! If a serious injury occurs in relation to the use of this product, it should be reported
to Motion Concepts and/or Invacare as soon as possible following the incident.
1.3 WARRANTY
We provide a manufacturers warranty for this product in accordance with our General Terms and
Conditions of Business in the respective countries. Warranty claims can only be made through
the provider from whom the device was purchased.
1.4 SERVICE LIFE
The expected service life of this product is three years when used in accordance with safety instructions
and intended use, stated in this manual. The eff ective service life can vary depending on frequency and
intensity of use.
1.5 INTENDED USE
Matrx® Hug Headrest Pads are designed to provide eff ective posterior head support while maintaining
optimal comfort and positioning.
2.0 HUG HEADREST ( PADS
Our plush, hypoallergenic, lightweight Hug Headrest is designed using a down alternative
StaminaFiber ® filled pad/insert. The Hug Headrest inserts are quilted to hold the StaminaFiber
filling in place. The inserts are breathable to help the user stay cool, and fully machine washable,
for easy cleaning and disinfection. The Hug insert fits easily onto the aluminum headrest backing
plate, which can be further shaped/formed to the desired contour for maximum comfort. Our Hug
Headrests are sized identical to our Elan Headrests Pads and utilize the same (interchangeable)
outer covers. The outer covers are available with standard Startex
