Radio operation
The transmission of a switching command from the transmitter to the
receiver takes about 80 to 100 ms, based on the sWave ® data trans-
mission. The switching signal of a transmitter must not be generated
at a shorter distance, otherwise this signal will be overlooked. The re-
ceiver must support the sWave ® protocol of the steute modules. Each
switching operation triggers a transmission from the radio unit. This
also applies if several channels are activated or deactivated simulta-
neously. The current value of the battery voltage is transmitted with
each transmission.
Safety
Do not use the device in connection with other devices whose direct or
indirect purpose is to ensure life or health, or whose operation may
pose a threat to humans, animals or material assets.
Maintenance and cleaning
.steute recommends routine maintenance as follows:
1. Remove all dirt particles: Clean enclosure on the outside only.
Clean device in accordance with IP protection class. Clean with
a soft cloth and water or a mild detergent.
Do not clean using compressed air.
2. Remove dust from sensor surfaces.
3. Replace damaged parts.
4. Test the function.
Battery
The remaining capacity of a battery is hard to evaluate, but an empty
battery can be assumed in case of doubt and with a battery voltage
approx. <3.4 V at 20°C. In order to ensure reliable functioning, the bat-
tery must be replaced. To do this, the 5 screws in the housing cover
must be opened using a torx-8 screwdriver. The battery should be
inserted in the direction shown by the symbols on the cover. Only use
the intended or a compatible battery type. Depending on the country
of delivery, delivery will include either no battery or an AA lithium bat-
tery SL-760/3.6 V/2.2 Ah in a battery adapter, or a lithium battery SL-
2770/3.6 V/8.5 Ah without an adapter.

Disposal
- Observe national, local and legal regulations concerning disposal.
- Recycle each material separately. Dispose of possibly contained
batteries correctly.
Status signal
The device can regularly transmit a status signal in which the current
switching state of the transmitter is transmitted, regardless of a
change in the switching state. The user can set the status signal at dif-
ferent intervals. There are two options for this:
1. sWave ® configuration:
- See the receiver's mounting and wiring instructions.
2. Hardware jumper:
- Loosen the cover screws with a screwdriver. Remove the cover.
- After opening, a jumper becomes visible on the printed circuit board.
Now the desired time can be set. For the evaluation of the status sig-
nal, special receivers are available from steute.
- Put the cover on. Tighten the cover screws (0.45 Nm).
There must be no foreign bodies in the sealing area.

NOTICE
- If a jumper is inserted to set the status signal, this
jumper overwrites the receiver setting.
- If the receiver's status signal setting is to be used,
the jumper must be set as shown in Fig. »Delivery
