Manual squelch (SQ)
Turn the SQ knob clockwise until the background noise disappears. The more
you turn it to the right, the stronger the signals (those emitted nearby) will be
received.
Turn the SQ knob counterclockwise to receive even the weakest signals.
Note: If ASQ mode is activated, the SQ button can no longer be operated.
Automatic Squelch (ASQ)
Press the ASQ button on the microphone to activate the ASQ function. The green
indicator LED on the radio lights up. Adjust the automatic squelch level by turning
the ASQ knob on the front panel of the radio.
Key Lock
Move the 19-CH-L switch to the L position. All keys are locked except the PTT key.
Emergency channel 19
Move the 19-CH-L switch to the 19 position. Press the PTT key to transmit.
Changing the standard
Depending on the country you are in, it is necessary to change the operating
standard of the radio. To change the standard, proceed as follows:
Turn off the radio.
While holding down the Down and PTT buttons on the microphone, turn the
radio on again.
Use the Up and Down buttons on the radio to select the desired standard.
Turn the radio off and on again.
To check the current rate, use the same procedure.
