◾
Always start the machine at low speed and with
the auger bit tip in contact with the ground. At
higher speeds, the bit is likely to bend if allowed to
rotate freely without contacting the ground, resulting in
personal injury.
◾
Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit
and do not apply excessive pressure. Bits can
bend causing breakage or loss of control, resulting in
personal injury.
◾
Always be sure you have a firm footing. Be sure
no one is below when using the machine in high
locations.
◾
Hold the machine firmly.
◾
Keep hands away from rotating parts.
◾
Do not leave the machine running. Operate the
machine only when hand-held.
◾
Do not touch the auger bit immediately after
operation. It may be extremely hot and could burn
your skin.
◾
If something is wrong with the machine, such as
abnormal sounds, stop operating immediately and
contact your local service center for repair.
◾
To reduce the risk of explosion, never use the
auger near any buried gas lines, including water
lines and pipes. Contact with or use near buried
water or gas lines may result in bursting of water lines
and explosion from gas lines which may cause serious
injury or death.
◾
Never operate at higher speed than the maximum
speed rating of the auger bit. At higher speeds, the
bit is likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely without
contacting the workpiece, resulting in personal injury.
◾
Battery-operated machines do not have to be
plugged into an electrical outlet; therefore, they
are always in operating condition. Be aware of
possible hazards even when the machine is not
operating. Take care when performing maintenance
or service.
◾
Do not wash with a hose; avoid getting water in
motor and electrical connections.
◾
The ice blades are very sharp. Use extreme caution
when drilling a hole or replacing the blades. Put
the blade guard on after each use.
◾
Frequently check and ensure that the locking
screw is secured in place.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. Refer to them frequently
and use them to instruct others who may use this
machine. If you lend someone this machine, lend them
these instructions also to prevent misuse of the product
and possible injury.

the tubes of the right and left handles into the curved
slots on the power head base (Fig. B1).
2.
Align the two holes in each handle tube with the two
holes in each base slot.
NOTE:
Incorrect right/left installation of the handles
will prevent these holes from aligning.
3.
Use 8 sets of bolts, washers, and nuts to secure
the handles to the power head. Use the wrench and
5 mm Allen key to tighten them securely (Fig. B2).
4.
Align the arrow on the right handle cable with the
arrow on the power head cable. Then insert the
cable plug of the right handle into the cable socket of
the power head. Tighten them securely (Fig. B2).
NOTICE:
To prevent cable damage do not bend or
twist it during assembly.
