SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT IS THE REISHUNGER RICE COOKER SUITABLE FOR?
• Use the appliance only for cooking and keeping warm rice and steaming vegetables and not for preparing soups or
boiling water.
• Do not prepare packaged food in the rice cooker.
• Do not switch on the appliance when the rice cooker is empty.
• Use the inner pot only for cooking inside this appliance.
• Operate the appliance only from a 220 to 240 volt mains socket.
• Connect the appliance to a separate circuit. An overload from multiple appliances will cause the appliance to stop
working properly.
• The unit and the cable must not touch hot surfaces.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
• The Reishunger rice cooker is only intended for private use in the kitchen or office.
• Use in hotels, motels, guesthouses and their guests is not recommended.
THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE USE
• Before you start: Read all the instructions for use in this manual and keep the manual for later - then nothing can go
wrong! Also, make sure that all packaging materials have been removed. Take a look at the parts and accessories to
make sure that everything is in good condition. Please follow the safety instructions to avoid injury.
• We recommend that you wash the accessories and the inner pot with warm soapy water and dry them thoroughly
before using them for the first time. Then fill the inner pot halfway with water and boil the rice cooker for 20 minutes.
• The rice cooker is suitable for children aged 8 and over, provided they are supervised or you have explained the
safe use of the appliance to them. It is important that you talk to the children about the possible dangers and that
they understand them before using the appliance. The appliance should not be cleaned or serviced by children. If the
children are older than 8 years, they can do this under your supervision. Keep the rice cooker and the cable out of the
reach of children under 8 years of age.
• Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
• Children must not play with the appliance.
• Please do not leave children unattended near the appliance during use.
• Do not use the appliance if the power cord or plug is defective or if the appliance is no longer in proper working
order.
• Only use the accessories provided by the manufacturer. Accessories that do not fit may cause a fire or electric shock.
• To avoid damage, always pull the cable out of the socket by the plug and not by the cable.
• Make sure that the outside of the inner pot as well as the body and the heating plate are clean and dry before starting
the cooking process.
TO BE OBSERVED DURING AND AFTER USE
• Only touch the appliance by the handles provided to avoid injury from hot surfaces.
• Use extreme caution when moving the appliance during cooking. The steam that escapes is very hot and the steam
outlet valve is located very close to the handle.
• Make sure that the steam outlet valve of the rice cooker is always uncovered.
• Please always open the lid carefully so as not to get burnt by the escaping steam
• Do not damage the power supply cable. Under no circumstances should the cable be be kinked, twisted or modified.
Never place the cable under or between heavy objects. Do not allow water to reach the power supply unit.
A damaged power cable can cause electric shock or fire. fire. If your power cable is damaged, you can order a new
one from our shop, or from the Customer Service at support@reishunger.de to order a new one.
• Caution: the inner pot and the heating element are hot after use.

CLEANING
• Before cleaning, please unplug the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool down completely. Remove and clean
the the inner pot, the steamer insert and the drip tray for condensation water after each use. Clean the parts with
warm soapy water and a commercially available soft cloth or sponge. You can clean the body and the cooled heating
plate with a damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents, steel wool or metal objects for cleaning to avoid damage. The
appliance is not dishwasher safe.
• Do not immerse the body, the cable or the mains plug of the appliance in water.
• When not in use or for cleaning purposes, unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely.
• Do not use pointed, rough or sharp objects to clean the inner pot.
• Do not remove the sealing ring. Instead, clean it with a commercially available sponge.
