1. Camera Introduction

The IN-9808 4K is the latest QFHD PIR Outdoor IP Camera from INSTAR, fea-
turing a cutting-edge Panasonic passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor. With four
configurable alarm zones that can be linked, the camera minimizes false alarms
and alerts you only when a real event occurs.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art Sony 8MP CMOS sensor, the IN-9808 offers
low noise, high-speed performance, and Sony STARVIS technology. This en-
sures superior image quality in daylight and sharp night vision using high-power
LEDs, enabling accurate motion detection and reliable alarm notifications.
The camera's innovative design simplifies installation by allowing you to connect
only the necessary cables. Unlike older models, there's no fixed connection ca-
ble, so if you're using WiFi, you can choose to connect only the power supply
cable.
Running on an integrated Linux operating system, the camera offers secure ac-
cess through TLS encryption. Its modern, intuitive web interface (WebUI) sup-
ports all major devices (desktops, tablets, smartphones) and operating systems
(Windows, macOS, Linux). With a built-in setup assistant and help function, the
IN-9808 is easy to install and use, even for beginners.
Please note that this manual covers both the WiFi and PoE connections for the IN-9808
4K. Some sections apply only to the WiFi connection, while others are specific to the PoE
connection. For example, the WPS function is relevant only for WiFi.
