Now select the appropriate thread adapter (2) and screw it into the mirror joint (1) using a hex key
(size 4). Then turn the mirror joint with the thread adapter into the fitting without tightening the joint.
Now use the hexagon key (size 4) to screw the mirror stem (3) to the joint (1) with the hexagon
socket screw (6), and roughly align them. The toothed washer (7) between the mirror arm and the
mirror joint (see drawing) must be fitted so that the connection between the mirror strut (3) and
the mirror joint (1) cannot come loose due to strong vibrations from the vehicle. Place the washer
(4) onto the ball head thread of the mirror housing (5) (important – without the U-washer, the stem
may become damaged during tightening) and screw it into the mirror stem (3). Tighten the ball head
of the mirror housing using an open-end spanner (size 8 mm). Sit on the motorcycle and move the
mirror into an optimal position so that you have a good view of the traffic behind you. Now tighten
the hexagon nut of the mirror joint (1) using an open-end spanner (size 16 mm). Check that the
mirror does not hit the tank, fairing or other parts of the vehicle, even when the handlebar is at full
lock. If necessary, realign the fitting on which the mirror was attached. Finally, tighten all the screw
connections. Do not adjust the mirror head until the threadlocking adhesive on the thread has
hardened (approx. 24 hours at a temperature of 22°C).
