USING THE APPLIANCE
Toasting bread
The fi rst use of the appliance may be accompanied by a slight odour or smoke, caused by burning off the dust
on the new heating element. We recommend therefore to switch on the appliance for the fi rst time without
inserting any bread. We recommend that you set the browning control to medium during this procedure.
1.
Plug the appliance into the electrical outlet.
2.
Insert in the slots slices of bread of equal size, equal thickness and equally fresh. Avoid inserting tattered
or broken slices, which could become stuck in the mechanism of the toaster.
3.
Set the control 4 to the required degree of browning from 1 to 6 (1: the lightest, 6: the most brown).
Diff erent types of bread require diff erent settings. The higher the setting, the longer is the time of browning.
4.
Press the lever 2 all the way down until the whole bread slice is inserted in the toaster.
Note: If the toaster is not on, the switch cannot be secured in the bottom position.
5.
When the toasting is fi nished, the holder with the slices pops up and the toaster switches off .
Note: You can interrupt the toasting at any time by 5, located beside the browning control.
Defrosting
The defrost function is intended for toasting of bread just removed from a freezer. The slices have to be fi rst
defrosted, which will prolong the toasting time.
1.
Insert the slices in the slots.
2.
Set the browning control to the required position.
3.
Push the lever 2 to the bottom position until it snaps in place and in the same time press the button 3
selecting the defrost function.
4.
When the toasting is fi nished, the holder with the slices pops up and the toaster switches off . You can
interrupt the toasting at any time by pressing 5 button.
