GB The Flex roadbed
The ballasted roadbed for the flexible track (Flex-track) 42400 and 42401 consists of a flexible road-bed
(1), a roadbed core (2) underneath and the roadbed slopes (3).
The roadbed parts are separate and are assembled together with the Flextrack.
Montage
1.
Insert Flextrack into roadbed (1). Care must be taken that the nail holes in the sleepers (4) match up
with the holes in the roadbed (5) - (fig. 1).
The recess between the sleepers (6) must be on top of the continuos ballast (7) - (fig. 1).

Turn the roadbed upside down, place the roadbed core in the underside of the roadbed and press
it firmly in place (fig. 2). The roadbed core can now be attached when the track nail guides (8) are
inserted into the corresponding receptacles (9).

The insertion of the roadbed slopes and the further installation of the Flextrack is easier if the clam-
ping strip (10) of the roadbed slope is treated with a lubricant (fig. 3).
Suitable lubricants are liquid detergents or soap solutions. No oil or oily substances must be used.

It is advisable to glue the roadbed slopes at the junctions (11) with a fast-acting (ACC= cyan acrylat)
type of adhesive before inserting them (fig. 4). Insert the roadbed slopes (3) - (fig. 5).

When installing the Flextrack and roadbed assembly it can happen that the inside roadbed edge
buckles up - this can be remedied by pulling the roadbed slopes tight (fig. 6).
General notes: To connect the Flextrack to adjacent track sections it is necessary to attach fis-
hplates (rail joiners) to the rails. It is recommended to remove the last three sleepers (ties) from
the ends of the Flextrack and to replace them with sleeper end pieces (42600 or 42601).
The sleeper end pieces have the necessary cutouts at the ends to facilitate the attaching of the
fishplates.
Before the sleeper end piece is placed into the roadbed (1), the connecting web (13) of the slee-
per end piece (12) must be removed wherever it is on top of a continous ballast imitation (fig. 7).

Lits de ballast
Les lits de ballast conçus pour les voies flexibles réf. 42400 et 42401 se compose d'un ballast flexible
central (1), d'une armature également flexible, pla-cée sous la bande centrale du ballast (2), et de deux
bandes de talus (3).
Les différents composants sont fournis "en vrac" et ne sont à assembler que lors du montage des voies
flexibles à leurs lits de ballast correspondants.
L'assemblage ne pose aucun problème, néanmoins il est conseillé de bien vouloir respecter l'ordre des
différentes étapes de montage présentées ci-après:
Montage
1.
Loger la voie flexible dans la bande centrale du ballast (1). Veuillez veiller lors de cette opération
à ce que les trous borgnes (ils ne sont en effet visibles que de la face intérieure des traverses (4)
colncident exactement avec les trous correspondants (5) au ballast - voir la fig. 1;en plus il est indis-
pensable que le creux (6) entre les traverses soit placé en haut d'une zone continue du ballast-même
(7) comme le montre également la fig. 1

Tournez maintenant le ballast avec la voie flexible y logé, et placez ensuite (du côté opposé à la voie-
même) l'armature (2) au ballast. Puis faites la s'emboîter par ses ergots aux trous borgnes latéraux
correspondants du travelage en exergant une pression souple, mais énergique sur l'armature (voir
fig. 2).
