6. Check before use
Before use, the rope transportation device must undergo a visual inspection and a functional test.
The following points are observed during the visual inspection: Corrosion, wear, damage, deformation and
legibility of the product labelling. Carefully inspect all components of the appliance.
Check the rope to be pulled in for chafing, cuts, the effects of heat and acid, stiffness and other changes to the
surface quality or diameter.
If there is any doubt about the safe condition of the system or its components, they must be withdrawn from use
immediately. Damaged devices, carabiners and ropes must not be used. Systems that have been damaged by
a fall must also be withdrawn from use and returned to the manufacturer for maintenance and retesting.
7. Safety requirements
The ropeAID rope-only winch may only be used to transport rope and
may only be used by persons who have been instructed in its safe use and have the appropriate knowledge.
Caution: Ropes should not be pulled in over sharp edges. Protect ropes from sharp-edged objects,
welding sparks, chemicals, extreme temperatures or other destructive or damaging hazards.

The sling of the device is hooked into the attachment point of the rescue harness EN 1497, ANSI Z359.4/ EN
361, ANSI Z359.1 or to an attachment point in accordance with EN 795 and secured.

All instructions in these operating instructions must be strictly observed.
•
The rating plate must always be legible.
•
Hazards such as extreme temperatures, stress from sharp edges, cuts, abrasion, slack rope, rope knots,
exposure to chemicals, electrical influences or climatic effects can impair the function of the equipment.
8. Material specifications
The ropeAID consists of the following materials:
•
Fittings made of aluminum, steel and stainless steel
•
Plastic parts made from polyethylene
•
Snap hooks made of aluminum or stainless steel
9. Storage and transport
•
Any kind of contact with acids, corrosive liquids and oils must be avoided at the storage location.

10. Inspection and general information
•
If there is any doubt about the safe condition of the system or the components, they must be replaced
immediately. This must be carried out by the manufacturer or another competent person.
