ATTENTION
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 50°C and does not fall below -20°C during work.
ATTENTION
The product is part of the 20V gomag series and may
only be operated with batteries of this series. Batter-
ies may only be charged with battery chargers of this
series. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
9.1
On/Off switch (6) (Fig. 5)
ATTENTION
Before use, check the inserted tool to ensure all fas-
tening parts are attached correctly.
Switching on
1. First press the switch lock (7) and then the on/off
switch (6). Then release the switch lock (7) again.
Switching off
1. To switch it off, simply release the on/off switch (6).
Note:
Wait until the product has come to a standstill before
setting it down.
9.1.1
LED work lamp (4) (Fig. 1)
This product is equipped with an LED work lamp to illu-
minate the immediate work area and improve visibility
in poorly lit environments.
CAUTION
Do not look directly into the LED work lamp or the
light source.
1. The LED work lamp (4) lights up automatically as
soon as the product is switched on.
9.2
Adjusting the speed
1. Light pressure on the on/off switch (6) results in a
low speed. As the pressure increases, the speed in-
creases.
We recommend determining the speed using practical
tests.
Note:
The integrated motor brake ensures a quick standstill.
9.3
Guide the reciprocating saw
safely
The foot plate can be swivelled to adapt to the work-
piece and for secure support. It must always be in con-
tact with the workpiece when the product is in opera-
tion.

10 Working instructions
• Check the material to be processed for foreign ob-
jects such as nails, screws etc. and remove them.
• Ensure that the ventilation slots are not covered.
• Switch on the product and only then approach the
material to be processed.
• Switch the product off immediately if the saw blade
jams. Spread the already sawn gap with a suitable
tool and pull out the product.
• Adjust the saw blade and stroke rate to suit the ma-
terial to be processed.
• Saw blades optimised for each application of your
product are commercially available in different
lengths.
• Saw the material with a steady feed.
• Do not attempt to saw extremely small workpieces.
• Do not tilt too far forward. Always ensure a secure
footing, especially on scaffolding and ladders.
10.1
Test run
Note:
Before the first work and after each tool attachment
change, carry out a test run without load. Switch off the
product immediately if the tool attachment runs out of
round, there is considerable vibration or abnormal nois-
es are heard.
10.2
Plunge saw (Fig. 6)
CAUTION
Risk of kick-back!
Plunge cuts may only be made in soft materials
(wood or similar).
• Use only saw blades that are suitable for plunge
cuts.
Proceed as follows:
1. Place the reciprocating saw with the lower edge of
the foot plate (2) on the workpiece. Switch the prod-
uct on.
2. Tilt the reciprocating saw forwards and plunge into
the workpiece with the saw blade (1).
3. Set the reciprocating saw vertically and continue
sawing along the cut line.
10.3
Information on saw blades
You can use any saw blade, provided it is furnished
with the appropriate mount - ½" (12.7 mm) universal
shank. Optimised saw blades in various lengths are
commercially available for every application of your re-
ciprocating saw.
