• Avoid unexpected start-up. The pump remote control is
for the tool operator only. One person should operate
both the pump and the tool.
• Stay clear during operation. Approach tool only to rotate
the application nut.
• Never position yourself in line with the bolt axis.
• Never exceed the Tensioner maximum working pressure
or maximum Piston ram/ stroke.
• Never adjust the hydraulic pressure regulator with the
tool on the application. Refer to setting up instructions.
• Ensure that the joints / pipework to be worked on are not
"live". Joints must be at zero pressure and free from haz-
ardous substances.
• Moving equipment. Do not use hydraulic hoses, swivels,
pump power or remote cords as means of moving the
equipment.
• Disconnect the power supply and depressurize the hy-
draulic system before disconnecting or connecting hoses,
fittings, or accessories or adjusting or dismantling the
tool.
• Regularly inspect tool, power pack, hoses, connectors,
electric lines and accessories for visual damage. Refer to
instruction manual for correct tool and pump maintenance
and pre-operation checks.
Projectile hazards
• Always wear impact-resistant eye and face protection
when involved with or near the operation, repair or main-
tenance of the tool or changing accessories on the tool.
• Be sure all others in the area are wearing impact-resistant
eye and face protection. Even small projectiles can injure
eyes and cause blindness.
Noise hazards
• High sound levels can cause permanent hearing loss and
other problems such as tinnitus. Use hearing protection as
recommended by your employer or occupational health
and safety regulations.
Workplace hazards
• Slip/Trip/Fall is a major cause of serious injury or death.
Be aware of excess hose and electric cords left on the
walking or work surface.
• Avoid inhaling dust or fumes or handling debris from the
work process which can cause ill health (for example,
cancer, birth defects, asthma and/or dermatitis). Use dust
extraction and wear respiratory protective equipment
when working with materials which produce airborne
particles.
• Proceed with care in unfamiliar surroundings. Be aware
of potential hazards created by your work activity. This
tool is not insulated from coming into contact with elec-
tric power sources.
• This equipment is not recommended for use in potentially
explosive atmospheres unless certified for that purpose.
Electric motors can spark and metal-to-metal contact can
cause sparks.

The product is fitted with signs and stickers containing impor-
tant information about personal safety and product mainte-
nance. The signs and stickers shall always be easy to read.
New signs and stickers can be ordered by using the spare
parts list.
