Troubleshooting – Causes and Corrective Measures
Problem
The glue stick is not transported.
Glue stick falls out of glue pen.
Long after-run or dripping period
after relieving the feed.
Glue pen dripping continuously
without feed actuated.
Feed blocked through glue escap-
ing toward the rear.
Glue does not flow uniformly.
Adhesive surface only bonds on
one side.
Adhesive bond comes undone af-
ter cooling.
Glued tiles in damp locations come
undone.
Glued shoe soles come undone.
Strands/strings of glue are pulled
at the end of the gluing when re-
moving the glue pen.
Workpiece melts.
Burns on fingers from applying ad-
hesive.

Cause
Glue stick used up.
Glue stick diametre too large or small.
Glue stick too short.

Material of workpiece not suitable.
Moisture creeps under bonding location. Adjesive not suitable.
Moisture causes leather to swell and
creeps under bonding location.
Feed still actuated when done applying
the adhesive.
Nozzle not been wiped off.
Workpiece consists of material that
melts at low temperature, e. g. foamed
polystyrene.
Adhesive penetrates through paper
when applying.
Adhesive penetrates through fabric/tis-
sue when applying.
Metal workpiece has heated up.
Corrective Measure
Insert a new glue stick.
Use recommended original glue sticks.
Use recommended original glue sticks.

Wait for heating time of glue pen to elapse.
