h) Handles and grip surfaces must be kept dry,
clean and free of grease. Slippery handles and
grip surfaces do not ensure a safe grip and control
over the power tool in unexpected situations.
5) SERVICE
a) The power tool must be repaired by a quali-
fied person that will use identical spare parts.
This will ensure that the same level of safety will be
achieved as before the repair of the power tool.

IX. Repairs
and maintenance
•
WARNING
y Carry out installation or maintenance/repair tasks on
the power tool with the el. power cord disconnected.
y Keep the power tool and its vents clean. Clogged vents
prevent air circulation, which may cause the motor to
overheat or a fire.
It is best to vacuum the dust from vents and the san-
ding base plate using a vacuum cleaner.
y The body of the power tool can be cleaned using
a damp cloth; prevent the ingression of water into the
power tool. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents
and solvents. This would result in damage to the out
plastic cover of the tool.
INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT OF THE BRUSHES
y In the event that while the power tool is running, sparks
are evident inside of it or if it runs irregularly, have the
wear of the carbon brushes located inside the power tool
inspected at an authorised service centre for the Extol®
brand. The inspection and replacement may only be
performed by an authorised service centre for the Extol®
brand because it is necessary to work on the internal
parts of the power tool. You will find a list of service
centres at the website in the user's manual. The carbon
brushes must be replaced with original components.
