y The declared aggregate vibration value and the declared noise emission level were measured in accordance with
standard testing methodology and may be used for the comparison of one tool with another. The declared aggregate
vibration value and the declared noise emission level may also be used for determining preliminary exposure.
WARNING
y Vibration and noise emissions during actual use of the power tool may differ from the declared values depending on
the method in which the power tool is used, particularly the type of workpiece that is being worked on.
y It is necessary to determine the safety measurement for the protection of the user, which is based on the assessment
of exposure under real operating conditions (to include all the parts of the work cycle such as time for which the power
tool is turned off and when running idle outside the time that it is in operation).
III. Sandpaper sheets available for purchase if required
Note:
y The higher the PXY number the smaller the grit size on the sandpaper sheet. For coarse sanding, it is necessary to
select a larger grit size, for sanding to a medium size and for final fine sanding prior to the application of, for example,
a surface coat, select a fine sandpaper type.

for use
ATTENTION
y Carefully read the entire user's manual before first use
and keep it with the product so that the user can learn
about it. If you lend or sell the product to somebody,
include this user's manual with it. Prevent this user's
Table 2
manual from being damaged. The manufacturer takes
no responsibility for damages or injuries arising from
use that is in contradiction to this user's manual. Before
using this appliance, first acquaint yourself with all the
control elements and parts as well as how to turn it
off immediately in the event of a dangerous situation
arising. Before using, first check that all parts are firmly
attached and check that no part of the power tool, such
as for example safety protective elements are damaged
or incorrectly installed and also check the the power
cord for damaged insulation. A degraded power cord
is also considered to constitute damage. Do not use
a power tool with damaged parts and have it repaired
at an authorised service centre for the brand - see
chapter Servicing and maintenance.
WARNING
y Carry out installation or maintenance/repair tasks on
the power tool with the el. power cord disconnected.

ATTACHING THE SANDPAPER
TO THE BASE PAD OF THE SANDER
  I f you wish to use the dust collection box/dust
extraction, which is recommended for health rea-
sons, use sandpaper sheets that have holes aligning
with the holes in the base pad of the sander. Dust is
extracted through these holes.
y Sandpapers with various grit sizes can be attached on to
the sander. The smaller the grit size on the sandpaper, the
less material is removed from the sanded material. To sand
away material, select a sandpaper with a larger grit size,
for sanding out unevenness, e.g. sanding areas with pee-
ling paint, select a medium grit size, and for final surface
sanding prior to the application of a surface coat, e.g. pre-
paration for varnishing, select a fine grit size. The higher
the PXY number the smaller the grit size, see table 2.
ATTENTION
y For effective sanding, use sandpaper sheets that are not
worn out and undamaged. Do not use sandpaper sheets
intended for sanding metals to sand wood.
ATTENTION
y Prior to installing the sandpaper sheets, check that the
base plate screws are firmly tightened. If the base plate
is not properly secured by the tightening of the screws,
there is a risk that it will be damaged.
1) Unlock the clamp control levers.
2) Place a sandpaper sheet of correct size
185 × 93 mm on to the base plate of the sander
so that the positions of the holes on the san-
dpaper sheets align with the arrangement of
holes on the base plate of the sander.
Fig. 2
3) Whilst holding down the sandpaper sheet on
the base plate of the sander, ensuring that the
holes in the sandpaper and base plate remain
aligned, insert one end of the paper under the
clamp and lock the clamp in place again. This
will securely clamp the sandpaper sheet in
place, see fig. 3.
