Operating the machine
Range of applications
Information
Stripping of floor coverings on dry floors. Floor coverings such as carpets, vinyl, coatings,
paint or similar. Only CONTEC® tools can be used. The use of the machine outside is only
possible in dry weather.
Operational function
The OX floor stripper removes glued floor coverings with the help of a vibrating
knife. The knife is moved by an electric motor.
f Check the condition of the blade assembly.
f Check all bolts and nuts for tightness.
f Check all leads for damage where applicable.
f Before starting the machine ensure that the blade is clear of any obstructions.
f Adjust the handlebar to a comfortable height and position.
f Adjust the blade angle to a suitable setting – See blade angle (page 6)
f Start the motor by turning the switch to the on position.
WARNING !
NOTE: If removing sheet vinyl or carpet cut the material into strips with a knife at
approximately the width of the OX blade.
Preparation (Carpet, Coatings)
As preparation, it is sufficient to cut the coating into strips of about 25 cm wide. Wider
strips do not save any time. To be able to start stripping / scraping, a strip must be cut
crosswise. Then lift a few centimetres to get under the covering with the machine knife. It
is advantageous to peel off the first strip crosswisse to the general working direction so
that you can approach the next strips directly.
After use
9 Clean the machine to remove all the build up of dust and surface residue. If using a hose
pipe or pressure washer take care that water is not directed onto electrical components
and switches.
9 (Note: Motors and switches are not waterproof)
9 All components should be checked daily for tightness:
BASIC MAINTENANCE/CHECKLIST:
This checklist should be undertaken every 8hrs to 10hrs taking into account the vibrating
action of machine.
DISCONNECT FROM THE POWER SUPPLY
9 Check the condition of the blade
9 Check all bolts and nuts for tightness
9 Grease the linear bearings on a monthly basis
9 Check all the electric cables and plugs.
Changing the blade
WARNING! Disconnect the mains plug before starting work. The blades are sharp
and gloves must be worn when changing them!
The angle of the blade can be altered to suit different applications
f Loosen the blade clamping screws and pull out the blade.
f Insert the new blade and retighten the screws.
f Adjust the angle to a suitable setting
f Tighten the screws.
