Cleaning tips:

Set the layout up in a location that is as free as
possible from dust. We recommend covering the
layout with something to protect it from dust
when it is not in use.
Never oil the track. Be sparing when oiling loco-

motives so that they do not dirty the track. Wipe
the track occasionally with a dry cloth. Do no use
rough cleaning materials such as sandpaper, etc.

Oxidation and other deposited dirt can be
cleaned from the track during operation with the
88021 powered track cleaning car. The 86501
track cleaning car can be run continuously in a
freight train and can be used to keep the track
continuously clear of dust or oil residue.
