Operation Elements
Barcode Scanner
Barcode readers optically sample the barcode and
decode the information contained within the barco-
de. This information is then converted into an elec-
trical signal and can, therefore, be further proces-
sed, as required.
Barcode scanners consist of several emitter diodes
and a CCD module. The light signals are sampled by
the CCD module and further processed in a topped
circuit. The integrated decoder converts the infor-
mation within the barcode scanner into a format sui-
table for computers and this data is directly output
via the serial interface as ASCII code.

5.0 Operation Elements

Read head, location of the emission and re-
ception device of the barcode scanner.

Control display (red). The red LED is illumina-
ted if the barcode scan has been successful.

Scan" key, press to scan the barcodes.

Internal sound emitter, a signal sound is au-
dible if the barcode scan has been successful.
