Carrying out of Measurement
The following has to be verified:
1. Continuity of the protective bonding circuit
system
2. Insulation resistance tests
3. Voltage tests
4. Protection against residual voltages
UNITEST Machinentester Cat No 9032 or UNITEST
MACHINEmaster Cat. No. 9050 can be used for
testing points 1, 2 and 4.
Item 3 may be tested using High Voltage Tester.

5.2. Voltage Tests in Compliance with

EN 60204 / DIN VDE 0113
This test can be carried out using High Voltage
Tester, Cat No. 9030!
To test creepage and clearance distances, the elec-
trical equipment must withstand a test voltage for
at least 1 second. All circuits must be testet (except
circuits using PELV voltages), e.g. L1/L2/ L3 /N
against PE.
The test voltage, shall have a value of twice the rated
supply voltage or minimum 1000V, 50 Hz AC at a
transformer power of min. 500VA.
Remark: for equipment with rated voltages up to
500 V the test voltage 1000V can be used for equip-
ment up to 750 V the test voltage 1500V.
UUT must be voltage-free. Only use original
high voltage test probes, appropriate for this
test voltage to guarantee safe testing.

 Connect High Voltage Tester to mains socket.
 Select desired test voltage via key-operated
switch (3). LED "POWER ON" (6) is illuminat-
ed.
 Wait two seconds and press the key "STAND BY"
(1) for 1 second, the LED "STAND BY" (7) is
illuminated.
 Press key "TEST" (2) for 1 second, the LED
"TEST" (8) is illuminated. Attention, the high
voltage is now present at test probes!
 Connect UUT to high voltage test probes.
 The key "STAND BY" is used to switch off high
voltage.
Insulation Error:
In the event of error at UUT, the LED "INSULATION
BREAKDOWN" is illuminated and an acoustic signal
is audible. LEDs "TEST" and "STAND BY" (7) are off.
High voltage is switched off.The error message is
reset via key (STAND BY).
After usage, switch off the High Voltage Tester
against unauthorised use by removing the key
from the key operated switch (3).
Additionally, the High Voltage Tester is equipped
with a temperature controller. In case of instrument
overheating, the High Voltage Tester switches off
automatically. The LED "THERMAL OVERLOAD" (4)
is illuminated and further tests are inhibited.
After cooling down, the High Voltage Tester is again
ready for usage.

6.0 Maintenance

When using the instrument in compliance with the
instruction manual, no special maintenance is re-
quired. Any adjustments, maintenance and repair
works must be carried out by our service depart-
ment or authorised personell.
