The user of the mini-decade should familiarize himself with the
relevant instruction manual before using the decade. A trouble-free
operation can only be guaranteed if the values mentioned in the
instruction manual are followed. A basic knowledge of general
electrotechnics is therefore an absolute requirement.
With the aid of sliding switches any value between 100 pF and
11, 111111 µF can be set in a quick and safe manner.
The capacity values scaled by the decade can be set in 100 pF
steps. The produced capacity value can be calculated from the sum
of the values set by the sliding switches (see example on the back
of the decade).
In order to avoid a damage of the internal components of the mini­
decade the maximum carrying capacity of the individual values
must not be exceeded in any case (Page 9)!. After having applied a
voltage at the mini-C-decade the capacitors might bear a
dangerous voltage charge. When the capacity value is switched off
(by sliding back the sliding switch) the capacitor is automatically
discharged.
At a contact voltage of � 42 V AC effective and � 60 V DC
please exercise the necessary proper care!
The voltages between the input sockets of the device must not
exceed 163 V AC rms & 250 V DC. The mini-C-decade is licensed
up to an operating voltage of 163 V AC rms & 250 V DC and
applies to the valid EN-standards according to EN 61326/A2:2001-
05 & EN 61010-1:2001-03.
