Press this button to play back a cassette in the reverse
direction.
For reverse recording, press the @ REC
button at the same time as the reverse play button.
Rewind Button

Press to wind the tape rapidly from right to left.
Press to wind the tape rapidly from left to right
Forward
Play Button
( = FWD)
Press this button to play back a cassette in the forward
direction.
For forward recording, press the ® REC
button at the same time as the forward play button.
Filter Button (FILTER =
ON/ MLOFF)
Mode Selector Buttons (MODE SELECTOR © /=7/>)
Use these buttons to select the tape transport mode
for playback or recording.

Doiby NR Button (-= IN/OUT)
Press this button to play back or record a cassette using
Dolby noise reduction.
Dolby NR Selector Button (B/C)
Use this button to select Doiby B or C noise reduction.

Tab Monitor (TAB MONITOR
RECORDABILITY
REV/FWD)
Indicates the presence or absence of erasure prevention
tabs on sides A and B of the cassette presently inserted.
The tab monitor Jights to show which erasure prevention
tabs are in place (recording is possible).
Direction Indicator (DIRECTION)
Shows the current direction of tape travel.
Level Meter (PEAK LEVEL
L/R)
Tape Counter (TAPE COUNTER)
Stop Button ( mH STOP)
Record Button ( @ REC)
Tape Counter Reset Button (COUNTER
RESET)
Pause Button ( If PAUSE)
Auto Music Control System Button (AMCS)
Press to automatically locate the beginning of the next
song in either direction.
See page 7 for details.
Auto Space Button (AUTO SPACE}
When this button is pressed, a blank section about 5
seconds long is inserted in the tape. See page 7 for
details.
Tape Selector Buttons (TAPE SELECTOR

HIGH/NORM)
Timer Operation Switch (TIMER OPERATION
REC/OFF/PLAY)
Use this switch when the TA-R77 is used with an
audio timer.
It should be left in the OFF position
at all other times.
