Electrical alignment
This section describes all of the necessary electrical alignment
work.
The electrical alignment can be divided into:
IF programming (required after exchange of D801)
FM alignment
AM alignment
Notes on alignment:
The AM and FM alignment must be performed if any components
affecting the frequency are replaced or adjusted to different settings
during repair work.
Signal generator level values
The level values (E') listed in the alignment instructions are the
values at the (unloaded) antenna input.
Observation:
Make shure to operate the artifical antenna
always with 12 volts.
When using the dummy antenna (8 627 105 356), you must set
higher levels (Y) at the signal generator to compensate for losses at
the connection wire (V=6 dB) and the dummy antenna (X=14 dB, for
AM only).
Example FM:
Level at antenna input

Preparation work
Before you can perform the electrical alignment, you must make
certain preparations:
Move balance, fader, treble and bass controls into centre
positions:
1.
Turn on the car radio.
2.
Keep tone button depressed for more than 2 seconds.
"RESET" appears on the display panel.
3.
The parameters mentioned above are set to linear.
Station buttons
The station buttons must be programmed with the following
frequencies for the alignment:
