Troubleshooting
Fault / Symptom
Actuator does not move
Actuator does not move right
up to stop (at 20mA).
In stationary automatic
operation (constant set point
signal) the solenoid valves
continue to operate.
Solenoid valves are not
operating.
Valve fails to open.
Positioner not working.
Valve positions not reached
correctly.
Positioner does not respond
to set point signal.

Possible cause(s)
• Pilot pressure is too low.
• Pilot pressure is too low
Positioner is not adjusted
correctly.
• Leak in connection from
positioner to actuator.
• Leak in actuator.
• Faulty solenoid valve
connections.
• Contamination (swarf,
particles) in the solenoid
valves.
• Feedback pin is loose.
• Polarity of set point signal
has reversed.
• Positioner is not adjusted
correctly.
• Positioner is in manual
mode. Red LED is on.
Action
• Increase pilot pressure to 4-6
bar.
• Increase pilot pressure.
• Make adjustments.
• Find leak and correct.
• Change seals in actuator.
• Check solenoid valve plug
connections.
• Exchange solenoid valves.
• Check feedback pin seat.
• Check polarity of set point
signal.
• Run self-adjustment.
• Change to automatic mode by
pressing both buttons (IN and
OUT).
