Use gloves when handling the cutting blade
/ string. The cutting blade in particular is very
sharp; serious injury may result from handling it
bare-handed.

Working environment

Only use the machine in daylight or with good
quality artificial lighting. Only use the machine
only in dry and favourable weather. Do not use it
in the dark or in poor weather conditions, espe-
cially if there is risk of lightning strikes.
Do not use the tool near explosive or flammable
compounds, gases, dust, etc. The tool creates
sparks that may ignite dust or fumes.
Do not use the tool while standing on unstable or
slippery ground, steep slope, etc. Watch out for
ice and snow in cold weather. Always have both
feet planted firmly on the ground.
Keep bystanders and animals at least 15 m away
while using the tool. If a person or animal ap-
proaches closer, turn off the tool.
Do not operate the machine if there are people,
especially children, or pets nearby.
Before use, check the place where you will use
the machine. Remove any stones, branches, toys,
cables and other foreign objects that could hit the
tool and cause a dangerous situation or serious
injury.
Warning: Use of the tool may release dust-form
chemicals that can cause respiratory and other
diseases. These chemicals originate in pesticides,
insecticides, fertilizers, and herbicides. The de-
gree of hazard depends on the frequency of your
use of the tool. To reduce operator exposure to
these chemicals, only use the tool in well-venti-
lated areas and use certified protective gear, e.g.
dust filter masks designed to filter out microscop-
ic particles.
Electrical and battery safety
Do not expose the tool to rain or excessive mois-
ture. Water or moisture entering the tool increase
the risk of electrocution.
Do not use a tool with an inoperable or damaged
on/off switch or safety catch. Such a tool is dan-
gerous and needs to be repaired.
Avoid accidental starting. Do not carry the ma-
chine with your finger on the fuse and the switch.
Do not throw the battery into a fire. It may ex-
plode. Hand batteries in for proper disposal as
required by local regulations.
Do not dismantle or damage the battery. This may
release the electrolyte, which is caustic and may
cause severe eye or skin injury. The electrolyte
is poisonous. If you have accidentally swallowed
electrolyte, seek medical help immediately.
Do not charge the battery in rain or humid envi-
ronments.
First use
Before dismantling or modifying the tool, always
remove the battery.
Before handling the cutting blade, always put on
gloves.
Before installing the battery, make sure the tool is
not damaged, all bolts, nuts, and safety locks are
tight, and the tool is correctly assembled. Have
the cutting blade sharpened. If the cutting blade
is bent or damaged, it will need to be replaced.
Check proper function of all control elements and
switches. Clean and dry all handles.
Do not turn on a tool that is damaged or improp-
erly assembled. Serious injury may result other-
wise.
Adjust the shoulder strap and handle angle to the
operator's height.
When inserting the battery, hold the tool with the
cutting blade pointing away from you, other ob-
jects or the ground. Accidentally turning on the
tool at this point could cause injury or damage to
the tool or other property.
Before turning on the tool, make sure all wrench-
es and other external tools have been removed.
If such a tool remains attached to the rotary parts
while these are running, serious injury may result.
The protective cover must always be installed
when using the tool. Never use a tool whose pro-
tective cover is damaged or missing.
Make sure the area where you will be using the
tool is free of electrical cables, hoses, gas pipes,
etc. These hazards could damage the tool or
cause injury.
Operation
In case of danger, turn off the tool immediately.
Do not replace the nylon string with wire, rope,
etc.
If you notice unusual signs during operation (e.g.
abnormal noise or vibration), turn off the tool and
remove the battery. Do not resume use of the
