4. Putting into operation
Insert the MEGAPULS 250 welding unit exactly in the housing grooves of the water cooling
device MIG - COOL CART 100 and/or MIG - COOL 100 (see figure 2) and pull the welding unit to
the front side. Lock the welding unit in place using the supplied screw. To do this, screw into the
appropriate threaded hole (see Figure 2). The welding unit is then firmly connected to the water
cooling unit or system.
Connect the water cooling device MIG - COOL CART 100 and/or MIG – COOL 100 with the
welding power source MEGAPULS 250. Insert the connection cable from the water cooling
device (see figure 3) into the 9-pin socket at the rear panel of the MEGAPULS 250. Separate
connection cables are used for the supply of 400 VAC and the control signal voltage. The fuse of
the 400 VAC power supply is included in the MEGAPULS 250.
Your water-cooled WIG welding torch and your earth cable should be directly connected to the
output sockets and to the 12-pin torch button socket of the MEGAPULS 250. The supply and
back flow hoses are fitted to the MIG - COOL CART 100 or MIG - COOL 100 (blue = supply, red
= back flow), (see Figure 2).
Check the water level in the tank before you use the water cooling device MIG - COOL CART
100 and/or MIG - COOL 100. If the coolant level drops below ¾ of the tank contents, additional
cooling water should be added (see Figure 3). In order to ensure the best-possible of the torch,
the supply container must be completely filled. If necessary, refill coolant.
Only use Original Rehm coolant (order number 168 0075).
The mains supply of the MIG - COOL CART 100 and/or MIG - COOL 100 is provided by the
MIG/MAG welding power source MEGAPULS 250. First, switch on the power switch of the water
cooling unit, then switch on the power switch of the MEGAPULS 250 welding power source.
Select the location so that there is always sufficient fresh air to cool the water cooling unit
available. Ensure that the inlet and outlet vents are free.
5. Repairs and maintenance
5.1 Safety instructions
Warning!
Repair and maintenance work may only be carried out by personnel who have been
trained by REHM. Contact your REHM representative. To replace components, only
use original REHM components.
If maintenance or repair work were carried out on this unit by people who have not
been trained by REHM and thus are not authorised to carry out such work, the
REHM liability and warranty will be void.
Before you start to clean the water cooling unit, switch it off and disconnect it from
the mains!
Before you start maintenance work on the water cooling unit, switch it off and
disconnect it from the mains and lock it against accidental reactivation. Ignoring
may lead to death or injuries.
Shut off and depressurize supply lines.
The water cooling unit and the welding unit and its components are to be maintained in
accordance with the specifications made in the operating and maintenance instructions.
