Selectable Terminal Capacity of Phono MM Input
— The input for record players with magnetic pick-up, Phono MM 39,
has a terminal capacity of approx. 220 pF and is thus adjusted to the
average values of the magnetic pick-ups.
— If a magnetic pick-up cartridge should require a higher value,
connection to the input can be made via a separate cinch plug with
any terminal capacity desired.
- If i.e. a capacity of 400 pF is required the cinch plug has to be
equipped with a capacitor of 180 pF. (220 pF input internal + 180 pF
external = 400 pF in total).
— Consult your qualified Dual dealer.
Record Players with Moving-Coil Pick-Ups
- Connect record players with moving-coil pick-ups to the Phono
MC 38 connection jacks (black or red = right channel, white = left
channel).
- Set Phono MM/MC 16 change-over switch to MC position. MC
appears in the display.

can be connected to the connection terminals.
— Inorderto ensure an equiphase connection (otherwise loss of stereo
effect), only those terminals on the loudspeaker cabinets and on the
amplifier having the same color code may be connected to one
another.
- The connection terminal of the amplifier marked
