3. Use the buttons (3) to select the temperature you require.
4. Before using the appliance, leave the plates to heat up until the indicator
light (4) changes colour, from red to green, indicating that the set tempe-
rature has been reached.
It is possible to select 4 different temperature levels:
• 100°C for fine, straight hair
• 130°C for fine, wavy hair
• 160°C for thick hair
• 190°C for thick, curly hair
5. Release the plates safety lever (8) (fig. 2).
6. To turn the unit off, press and hold the ON/OFF button (2) for approxima-
tely 2 seconds, then remove the plug from the power socket.
Important: never leave the appliance unattended when it is turned on.
This appliance has a safety timer that turns it off automatically 1 hour after
it has been turned on; the time that has passed is indicated on the display
(5) by 6 bars (7), which turn off progressively at intervals of approximately 10
minutes (fig. 1).

OPERATING TIPS
• Hair that has just been washed and dried can be styled better.
• The first few times you use this unit it is advisable to practice on small
areas of your hair.
This appliance has been designed to straighten, smooth and set your hair,
leaving it full of shine. To use the unit proceed as follows: Leave the unit to
reach the required temperature.
Separate your hair into sections about 5 cm wide. Put one section at a time
between the smoothing irons and close the irons by exerting force on the
handles. Hold the other end of the unit with your free hand and slowly slide
the irons through your hair from the roots to the ends. If necessary repeat
this operation until the required effect is created. Leave your hair to cool
before combing or brushing.
The appliance is fitted with a removable comb (11) which can be used to
comb hair before it is straightened. In this way the hair does not break and
is left more even, easier to comb and shinier. To fit the comb and remove it
from the unit, see figures 3 and 4.
ION FUNCTION (only for model 639.01)
This product also has the "ION" function, which is always active during
operation. The appliance produces a flow of negative ions.
